About Daily Edge and how the numbers are calculated

By Daily Edge · Updated

Daily Edge is a small, free trading journal with crypto charts, a paper-trading simulator and a watch-only portfolio tracker, made by Overfit Labs. It is built around one question: do the days you keep your own rules actually go better than the days you don't? It's a record-keeping and practice tool, not a signal service and not financial advice.

Principles

Methodology: how the statistics are calculated

All statistics come from the trades you log (or close in paper trading). Nothing is estimated or adjusted.

Small samples are noisy, so a difference over a few weeks may be luck. See trading discipline and rule-breaking days for how to read it.

Data sources

Prices and candles: Coinbase Exchange public API (Kraken fallback). The home-page coin ticker uses the same Coinbase public prices, fetched by your browser. Balances: mempool.space / blockstream.info for BTC, publicnode.com for ETH and SOL. News: a static feed.json built from free public RSS (title, link, time and source only; link-out to the publisher). Your browser fetches market/balance APIs directly; the news file is served from this site. Charts use TradingView Lightweight Charts™ (Apache-2.0).
